top acts on dvd!

CHELLOOO (you got yo self a bass!)

Today was a good class because Cashy, suprisingly, didnt talk for all that long.. I KNOW you thought it wasnt possible.. but it was! jks cashy jks =]

annnyywayy, i got a fair bit done on the old solo.. i practised a whole new scene as my secondary character and worked on things like transitions between my primary and secondary characters. I havent got it properley memories or anything but i wrote down a lot of pointers about what to do and i’ll have a practise later tonight on it.

I also made up a minature routine for my primary character, bing the cheerleader ofcourse! It’s gonna be right at the start just for about 15 seconds or so to show Nikki (my character)’s personality vary from being on stage infront of everyone and being in a confrontation with other girls. Our last rehursal class is on thursday and im starting to kinda FREAK OUT a little bit but i’ve got the holidays and ive kinda put aside a bit of time to rehurse and perfect things.. whether i will actually go through with these plans is a whole different thing lol but we’ll see how it goes.

catch ya on the flip siiiide xxx

2 lessons left!

hello kiddies… and cashy..  …and whom ever else may be reading this post!.. ANYWAY

Sorry i havent blogged since last class, i cant really explain why i havent lol but there’s been a lot on.. but the good news is that i HAVE practised the solo.. i MADE time for that part!

Last class, Jess B, Maddi and I decided to work as a three to give advice and tips to each other and also just to watch and see how far in each other were and the standard that was being set. This helped because rather than just rehursing to myself and trying to think of new gestures or ways to enhance things, i had two totally different minds interpereting what i was doing. This was good to get suggestions from the other girls but also sometimes when a person says something it makes you think on to something else which gives you more and more ideas and this ALWAYS happens to me lol so i found it good rehursing with other people, and it also really does help with confidence! And we know that nobody in the class judges us by our performance but practising infront of each other makes it a lot less nerve wracking in the end!

I have scripted just over hald of the act now, two scenes at the start, and one in the middle. I am yet to make up my little cheerleader “routine” but i think the important thing for now is scripting and once ive got that down and done ill start with the routine, and being a kinesthetic person it doesnt really take me all that long to learn movements. I’m not that great at coreography but it wont be too hard to do a few basic moves!

 anyway its my bedtime now!

love to all xxx

character excersise

dear readers =]

today in class we did an excersise to help us “get to know” our solo characters. For me, this was slightly easier because i had already thought of a few small guestures and facial expressions but it still helped me a lot because i got to learn a lot more! I think this was a really good excersise and id like to do it again, because it is so much more helpfull than sitting down with a pen and paper and just deciding what your character is like, you get to feel it and its totally impro, and even though i stuffed up at one point, i didnt think of a lot of good lines and a few guestures just came out, luckily i rememberd them!

we did a bit of acting in the last few minutes and im feeling confident about it but at the same time im nervous because, although i have played characters like this before, its SO easy to loose it because this character has so many different sides to her!!

 see y’all later xxxx

Mother Duck =]

hey guys!

i finally have my blog up and running! all the technical difficulties are now fixed (sorry cashy! )

For my solo on ’subcultures’, i have chosen to perform the role of a cheerleader.  At first i kinda thought that maybe i should opt for somthing different because i usually tend to play characters who are based along the lines of girls like this, but then i thought that since it actually is my strength, then there isnt really a “problem” in doing it lol.

So far i have done a little bit of scripting, i have built a little bit of a story line but its not complete yet. I was doing some impro a couple of days ago i thought of a few good comebacks and lines to say as a cheerleader, but even though they didnt fit with what i was saying i wrote them down anyway so i could refer back to them and use them when i get stuck.. which will probably be quite often!

Even though, when you think of a cheerleader you think of someone who is generally a bimbo and whatever other word you would use to stereotype these kinds of typical girls lol, i am finding it kinda hard to base my performance opon one character, because there are so many different aspects of a cheerleader. There’s the ditzy type, rude / snobby type, the “hot” type, the really energetic type, and there’s even the actual nice and even quiet type! I think I’m going to base my character more along the lines of a snobby girl, yet bubbly and ditzy when she’s around boys which will also represent her being two faced and how girls cope with things like that.

anyway boys i gotta fly catch ya on the flip siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

 love leah xx

ps. CASHY IS MOTHER DUCK. hauahahaha
